Joachim Küchenhoff

Joachim Küchenhoff (*1953 in Dortmund) studied Human Medicine and Philosophy in Wuerzburg, Heidelberg and Glasgow.

1978, doctorate in Medicine from the University of Heidelberg.

From 1978 until 1984, training for psychiatrist consultant at the Psychiatric Hospital Weinsberg and the Psychiatric University Hospital Heidelberg.

In 1984 and 1994, physician assistant, senior physician and finally deputy chief physician at the Psychosomatic University Hospital Heidelberg where he qualified as a professor in 1992.

1994 Professor of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Psychiatric University Hospital Basel. He established the psychotherapeutic day hospital PTK, the fully inpatient unit for psychotherapy PTA and the outpatient department SPIS. In addition to that, he is one of the founders of the regional network for advanced psychiatrist training in the region of Basel which he still chairs.

Since 2007, he has been chief physician of the Psychiatrist Hospital of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft in Liestal. He established the psychotherapeutic day hospital PTK, the fully inpatient unit for psychotherapy PTA and the outpatient department SPIS. In addition to that, he is one of the founders of the regional network for advanced psychiatrist training in the region of Basel which he still chairs.

His main areas of research are psychotherapy process research and somatoform disorders.

Donators and Partners

A partnership with the University of Lucerne has existed since summer 2013. Since 2016 we have also a parthership with the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Lucerne. Through these partnerships, synergies are used and joint projects are tested and realized. The University of Lucerne currently consists of three faculties: the faculties for Theology, Culture and Social Sciences, and Law.
