Under the direction of publicist Dr. Esther Girsberger, five personalities discussed death as a border at the public evening event. Over 200 interested parties from Engelberg and the region were present in the ‘Kursaal’. They were greeted by the new mayor of the Engelberg Valley,
Alex Höchli.

Professor Geld Folkers then briefly introduced the topic. A large part of the discussion focused on the time before death and how people could be helped.

Dr. Irene Bopp, dementia specialist, explained that there are many rays of hope in her area of expertise, “even though this disease is very difficult for relatives to handle. They lose a dear one bit by bit.”
Prior Guido Muff felt that dying itself is very individual. Faith plays only a small part since he had already experienced many very religious people greatly struggling with dying.

Find out what physicist Harald Atmanspacher, religious philosopher Hartmut von Sass, and Oliver Koch, Athletic Director of Engelberg’s Sports Grammar School, contributed to the topic by watching the video of the discussion.
